Media Relations Techniques
Course fees: US$ 89 inclusive of taxes.
Course duration: No fixed duration. Students can study at their own pace.
Media Relations takes several forms in most companies, ranging from publicity to
crisis management. While large companies have positions dedicated exclusively to
media relations, this is not always the case at smaller companies, where the
responsibility is part of another executive’s duties or is handled by a public
relations agency. For this reason, it is good for all executives and managers to
know how to do good media relations. It is of equal importance to know media
relations, whether you work with a public relations agency or with a company in
the corporate communications team.
Good media relations means the company can maximize the positive effects of news
coverage and minimize the damage from negative news coverage.
The module of Media Relations Techniques trains you in building and maintaining
solid relationships with journalists. The module is rich in techniques to
generate coverage when your company/client does not have a story to share with
the media. It gives you an understanding of what makes news and how you can
create an impactful news release, organise a successful press conference and
write a pitch note. It also teaches you foreign media relations to deal with
foreign media.
Students will be able to study this course at their own pace. Successful
students will receive a certificate at the end of the course.
